What is an Executive Chaplain?
An Executive Chaplain supports the unique responsibilities of executives across various settings, including business, non-profits, government, and ministry. While most chaplains have a ministry background, Diane has a business background that helps her understand the complexities executives face. Juggling personal well-being with increased responsibilities for the betterment of others while conducting themselves with integrity and compassion can be challenging. As an Executive Chaplain, Diane knows that above all else, confidentiality is a top priority. As the saying goes, “it’s lonely at the top.”
What is Diane’s Background in Chaplaincy?
In 2013, Diane received her Chaplaincy Certification through the International Fellowship of Chaplains and worked as both a Business Development Director and Corporate Chaplain for a workplace chaplaincy company based in Madison, WI. While most of the workplace chaplain clients consisted of traditional “blue-collar” workers, Diane trained chaplains in the nuances of a corporate environment and developed unique strategies for engaging with employees and executives. For example, discretion is imperative; people who work in a corporate environment do not want anyone else to know they are talking to a chaplain. Additionally, accessing employees in a high-stress, deadline-oriented environment requires creativity to build relationships and establish appointment-based conversations in a confidential setting.
Why Does Diane Offer a Unique Solution?
Many chaplains come from a ministry background and may lack a solid understanding of the true corporate rat race. Diane, however, has a business background and has held executive roles throughout much of her career. Her experience in coaching and consulting, combined with her chaplaincy certification, enables her to support executives in a holistic way. Furthermore, Diane founded a non-profit aimed at solving community challenges through awareness and collaboration, allowing her to integrate a philanthropic perspective into her work with clients.
